Back from Colchester and the Best of British!

Judi and Spencer at Megarry's Antiques and Tea Shop!
Hello one and all so sorry I haven't blogged much this week but I have been out and about rather. In fact I've just got back from Colchester after singing for a 1940s Wedding at the Colchester Railway Museum. I played the museum back in August when I was booked to sing for their 1940s event so it was lovely to return and see all the volunteers again. The museum makes for a wonderful location and the wedding couldn't have been more perfect. I also had the pleasure of working with another good friend of mine DJ Woody who is just fantastic and always knows just what to play at these sorts of events. Great job Woody - it was lovely to see you both again!
Blackmore Village
I stayed over in Colchester and decided to have a leisurely journey back today avoiding the M11 and M25. The road works on the M25 at the mo are dreadful so I didn't want to get stuck in traffic like I did last week coming back from Chatham. I had wanted to be in London today for the Pearly Kings and Queens Costermongers Harvest Festival parade and service at St Mary-le-Bow, Cheapside. But after all the running around and shows I've done this month I didn't feel I could face London. So instead I set off to go home via Baldock and Bishops Stortford. I'm not quite sure how I managed it but somehow I missed the A120 and carried on down on the A12  not realising my mistake until I hit the M25 (Day dreaming again). So I decided to go back up the A12 and cut across country picking up the  A414 taking me through to Harlow, Hertford and back home to Leighton Buzzard that way instead.
I am a great believer in fate and in doing so I stumbled upon the most beautiful village by chance called Blackmore. By this time I was ready for lunch so I stopped and enjoyed my sandwiches on the village green and the weather couldn't have been more lovely if it had tried. I then called into Megarry's Antiques and Teashop at Jericho Cottage for coffee and had a really good natter with it's owner Judi Wood. Antiques and afternoon tea are two of my favourite past times and I stayed for a good two hours buying presents and drinking coffee. So if you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods do call in to Megarry's and just like me Judi runs a blog too so check out the link. www.antique-teashop.co.uk
She also has a web site for both the antiques and for the tea shop too  www.megarrysantiques.co.uk  www.megarrysteashop.co.uk
Back home now and back to work with catching up with paperwork
Thank-you every-one for your comments and feed back on my new Keep Fit article for the Best of British magazine. I'm really pleased with the way the article has turned out so if you haven't got your October copy yet do nip down to WH Smiths and you will find me on page 92. Like I say in the article this work-out has really worked for me and has given me the shape I've always wanted. I always feel very proud when an article I've writain gets published because I don't find writing easy being dyslecic and a lot of extra work went into this one.
Well it's late and I must get to bed as I have a lot to do tomorrow. Thanks for following Keep Watching and Toodle Pip!
