New Photos

Hello every one I've just got some of my photos through from the shoot I did the other day. Here you can see 3 photos one of me in my very practical 1940s tweed suite compleate with cravat and waist-coat and the other two are of me in my favourite green 1940s suite accessorised with yellow roses and fur. Both phots were taken at Pitstone musuem so thank-you to Joe for letting us shoot there. I made the green hat myself which has been sewn from 1930s millinary velvet bought in Hastings Old Town. The petersham trimming I picked up at Hammersmith Vintage Fashion fair and origanaly came from France.
The green suite I bought from "Vintage and Rivival" at Stoke Bruerne last October and the tweed one I bought last year at The 40s Family Experience Weekend in Bushey. The beret was agift from my dear friend Mamie.

George Don't Do That!

I've had a really good day today performing in a local school Stanbridge Lower as part of their World War Two day. What I love about performing in schools are the children - they have such energie and I enjoy engaging with them and getting them intested in the music of the 40s, harnessing their exuberance and using it in a positive way. Some of the children were as young as 4 - with many of the older children dressed as evacuees - nearly every one had made their own gas mask box and flag! Wonderful!
I do sometimes worry though that when I go into a school I have the habbit of turning into Joyce Grenfell, as I've got one of those sorts of voices! However children do respond rather well to it and now I come to mention it so do the parents! Ha ha. I did meet a George today but he was very well behaved as were all the children - So hats off to Stanbridge Lower and thankyou for inviting me!
Towmorrow I'm off to the recording studio to put some songs into production  for my Evette the Spivette show - I've also got some other tracks to pick up too so it's full steam ahead! Keep Watching and Toodle Pip for Now! ;->

The Swinging 50s & 60s

Sorry I didn't get to post a blog yesterday but I was out doing a swinging 50s and 60s show for a private party in the beautiful Buckinghamshire Village of Mursley. What a wonderful do that was - Thankyou for inviting me to entertain! I'm getting more and more bookings to sing the 50s and 60s and don't forget I shall be at the Midland Railway on the 14th & 15th July doing their 1960s event so I hope you can make it along!
After my show yesterday I did something which I hardly ever get the chance to do - I sat down and watched some TV. ITV 3 is my favourite channel it shows all the programs I love Miss Marple, Doc Martin, Foyle's War and Poirot, perfect! In truth I see alot of myself in Doc Martin I'm straight to the point where perhaps I should bite my touge - what can I say I have a firey artistic spirt! Although when I have my ATS uniform on I look most like Sam from Foyle's War! But don't worry I didn't just sit there and watch TV I did do some hat making too and my latest work is comming on splendly. I've been finding it hard to find strong enough thread to sew with in the colours I wanted so I had the brain wave to use embrodary silk as silk is the strongest fiber going and it works perfectly! Why didn't I think of it before!
Today I'm off to a Tea Dance as I fancy a bit of  a Swish

Men at the Gym!

Today I did all my paper work this morning and then poped down the gym this afternoon. What is it about men in gyms? Two chaps tring to work out with weights which were clearly too heavy - unable to hold the weight and banging the the equipment about so I told them straight. "That weight is too heavy for you you need to lower it". Needless to say they left a little embaressed-but really who do they think they are kidding!
This afternoon I picked up my new power amp and I have to say I'm really pleased with it, it's so light and I got a good trade in on my old one which to be honest I'm really glad to see the back of! I'm splashing out on a new smaller fight case for it which will keep everything compact and light giving me more space for my dresses and hats. As you can see by the photo I like big hats - this is one of my creations with Michel of Shore Patrol taken at Kent and East Sussex railway last year. I shall be there again this year on the 19th and 20th May and Bassingbourn on the 12th and 13th so I hope you will be able to make it. Bassingbourn is a new event billed as a WW2 1940s War-Time Weekend and Musical Extravaganza and the K&ES railway one is a well established event where you can see my Evette the Spivette show for the first time. I also join forces with The Cinque Port Lindy Hoppers film fottage of which you can see by clicking onto my web-site and You Tube channel.

Frightfuly Manly

I've just got in through the door - I had a morning show today and I've been out doing manly things this afternoon buying bungy straps for speakers, gaffer tape and trying out power amps. At long last I think I've found the one that best suites me a Peavey 1PR 1600 and it's so wonderfuly light too! Many of the amps one see now are very bassy which I don't like. What I look for is clarity and this one really works well with my Ev speakers and gives me a lovely sound particuly when I sing Opera. I also liked the sound it gave me when I did Rock and Roll too. I can also get a good trade in on my old one. Job done! Thank-you for recomending the one on e-bay Glynn but I really need one right away and I wanted to be able to try it before I bought it. Its so difficult to know one from the other with-out trying them out with my 4 Ev 300 speakers first but I feel very positive about this amp where many of the others I  could hardly lift and belive me thats saying something because I'm quite strong!
Tonight I'm going to be looking at photographs with a photographer friend of mine who is going to be helping me down load from USB to CD so I had better be taking notes. I hope to have some more new photographs for you to look at before long so do keep watching and bye for now! ;->

Going Technical!

Today I've been out and about looking at power amps  and I still have one to have a look at on ebay thanks to my dear friend Glynn. To be honest it's all so technical - bring back the old days when all I had to do was turn up with my sheet music, a dress in a suit carrier and sing! Speaking of which I'm looking forward to rehursing my Evette show and French songs again tonight. I had a really good 3 hour rehursal last night and I'm pleased to say much of my French has started to return. I'm also learning a new Piaf number Mon Dieu in prep for my return to France for June. I'm really starting to enjoy the languge as I get my tonge around those French words. I hope next year to have a stab at Padam Padam but boy are there alot of words! Many of you know I learn panetics which is really hard work but when you get it right it's so rewarding. It takes hours and hours of work but I get there in the end. Right I had better start rehursing! Keep Watching and do drop in again! ;->

Back in Rehursals

Hello every one Im just dashing keeping you up to date with my blog before I get back to rehursing my songs. I have a very busy season a head of me and this is a photo of me taken in France last year. I need to run through some of my French songs tonight as well as some of my Evette the Spivette patter in prep for May and June.
As many of you know my first public event will be the 12th and 13th May at The Tower Museum Bassingbourn which I'm looking forward to very much. This year you will see me working alone more - rather than always engaging a sound engineer. Buggets have been tight and sound engineers are becoming something of a luxary that many events just wont run to. Its great to have someone to share the load with but I'm quite capeable and strong. I work out at the gym regualy and I have built up my strength so I can throw up  speakers quite easily. Here's to a great Season! Keep Watching!

Happy St Georges Day!

Today I've been out and about doing Pearly Queen shows to mark St Georges day and you are not going to belive this but one lady asked me if I was a real Cockney? For those of you who have heard me speak you will know just how funny that is. I once got accused and I quote of "Being posher than the Queen"! Ha ha I know I put the Cockney voice on when I'm singing the Billy Cotton, Eliza Doolittle and Me and My Girl stuff but I'm not that good really Ha ha!
Two shows down today and my first one was in Marlow this morning followed by a BBQ. Yes only in England would you have a BBQ in the rain. That's what I so love about being English we are not put off by the weather- if we say we are having a BBQ we are having a BBQ and jolly good it was too. Perhaps I ought to add chef was out in the rain cooking away while the rest of us were in doors eating Yummy! I'm not long back from my second show in Great Missenden and now I can look forward to a quite evening doing a bit of repair work on my dress. When ever I wear my Pearly Queen costume I always loose a few of my Pearly bits so I'm looking forward to a sit down and a sewing evening. Oh that reminds me I have a few things to iron too. Better dash Toodle Pip!

Chained to my Desk!

Well as you can tell from the tital I didn't make it to Hammersmith but Bee very kindly e-mailed me this montage of  1920s photos from our shoot at Sywell which has cheared me up no end. Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in paper work! I don't think people relise just how hard I have to work just to stay a head in the game. If I'm not out on the road singing, I'm working out, doing photo shoots and often I'm working at my desk typing contracts into the early hours of the morning most nights so when I do get the chance to go out for myself it's quite a treat! Sadly that didn't happen today - but maybe October not that I'm wishing my work away as I'm so greatful for it and I just want to please! St Georges Day towmorrow so two Pearly Queen shows to do - So early to bed tonight I think
Bye for Now!

Todays Blog

I'm just nipping off to bed but I'm having one of those moments. Today I was performing for a Wedding Annivsary pary and now I'm back home at my desk I'm faced with a bit of a dilemma. I would really love to visit Hammersmith's Vintage fashion fair tomorrow at the town hall but I feel I really ought to stay at home and get on with paper work and learn lines. It's not as if I need anything but it is one of my favourite places to visit as I just love looking at vintage clothes and being around like minded people. They hold the fair every month and the last time I was there was back in October. Looking at my diary I have nearly every weekend booked and I wont get another chance until next October. Oh gosh do I stay or do I go?
What a pitty I can't get in this lovely plane and fly down to Hammersmith!
To be continued what will I decide!

Thanks for the Photos!

I just wanted to thank Dave and Bee Jackson for sending me the disk of  last Saturday's photo shoot at Swyell Aerodrome and here are two of the pictures as promised, one of me as a bright young thing of the 1920s and the other as an Edwardian lady.

Evette the Spivette here we come!

Today I have been rehursing all day and I met up with my new sound engineer Chris which was great. I so need a new power amp - my current one is rubish so I must go shopping for one very soon! It was grate to dust off my big sound system and get it all set up in the spare sitting room. Poor Chris was set up in the dinning room with the double doors open with me singing away in the sitting room, with my mother entertaining her ladies in the small sitting room. It's just as well my mother has a large house perhaps we had better not go into the three bedrooms set aside for my costumes and wardrobe, yes better not!
Well I surpose I had better get back and carry on with my rehursal for Evette. The show is really starting to come together and I've been having alot of fun with the songs add libbing in places. I've also been working on my script today singing and working on charactisation in front of a mirror - it's just like old times being back in drama class!
It may be me but I think the 1940s sceen has been some what lacking in creativaty of late - too much of the same old thing. I know many of you reading my blogs are re-anacters and you must get so board seeing the same old acts doing the same old shows year in and year out. This is why I thought it was time for something new. While I've been out and about it's been intresting chatting to you all and hearing your veiws on events. Curtainly there are quite a few events which have lost there direction where a few years ago were at the top of their game. It can be very frustrating when you aprouch some of these places because often the people in charge run events as a hobby and not from the veiw of the paying public. This year is going to be very intresting as quite a few events have folded but there are others springing up and the future seems to be in the smaller ones not the larger. Do keep watching and lets see how the year pans out I'm back to my rehursal!

Keeping You Up to Date!

Many of you have been asking me where I will be playing this year and for those of you who have been following my blogs you know my public season really kicks off this May at The Tower Museum Bassingbourn the 12th and 13th May. This week I have been tring to grab as much rehursal time as I can between shows with the launch of Evette the Spivette and I hope you the public warm to her when she appears on the 19th and 20th May at Kent and East Sussex Railway's 1940s event. Then it really goes mad with the Jubilee Celebrations which start for me on the 29th May at Carlton Towers in Yorkshire. Carlton Towers was one of the houses in contention for "Downton Abbey" but as you all know Highclere Castle got the job and I think quite a few of you saw me singing there last October. I shall also be at Mapledurham House another stately home in Reading on the 2nd June, Staplehurst, Kent on the 3rd, Aston Abbots Buckinghamshire the 4th and then over to France for D-Day on the 5th with 2 high profile shows booked in Aromanches for the 6th June. I shall publish more details about the events a little closer to so if you wish to come along it will be lovely to see you. However out of the 200 + shows I do a year not all of them are public. Many of the events I do are private functions from wedding anniversaries, birthdays, corprate events, golf clubs to schools. This weekend I have a Ruby Wedding to do in Milton Keynes and then a run of St Georges Pearly Queen shows. So do keep dropping in and I will keep you posted! The beginning of May I shall be performing for The Air Sea Rescue in Stratford Upon Avon and then over to Newark Show Ground for The Auto Sleepers Owners Club - so as you can see I'm a bit of a busy bee!
Thank-you to every-one who liked my Best of British 1940s fashion artical. I know many WH Smith have sold out of the magazine this month but for those of you who follow the 40s circuit you know it's the one to buy as it lists all the 1940s events for the year. If you would like a copy but couldn't get hold of April's isue here is The Best of British's phone number Tel 020 8752 8181

Putting on the Ritz!

Today I've been doing my 1920s and 30s show Putting on the Ritz although I had my net book go down so I used mini disk instead. It's great I always carry back up - the problems I've been having are really just little things and alot of it is due to my own ignerance but I am getting better and if I need help I just ring an exspert and sure enough I've got the problem fixed now!
I hope you like the photo this shot is thanks to Bee Jackson again and I like the fact she has put me on film and added my name.
I have a very busy season a head of me and on my way to my show today I had a good natter through of some of my script idears for Evette the Spivette. She is comming along nicely and really starting to take shape.
I can't wait to launch her on the 19th and 20th May at the Kent and East Sussex Railway's 1940s event and dont forget to come and see me on the 12th and 13th May at Bassingbourn, details posted below.
That's about it from me for today as I'm feeling alittle tired and fancy watching some TV. I think there is something about Liz Taylor's jewels so I must watch that!
Take care and bye for now! ;->

Tuesday 17 April 2012

Somewhere in England!

Don't forget to join me on the 12th and 13th May at The Tower Museum Bassingbourn for a fantastic 1940s War Time and Musical Extravaganza. I shall be on stage along with Paul Casper as George Formby, Winston Churchill and the Opus 17 Big Band. There will also be WW2 Vintage and Military Vehicles, Allied Forces Living History a B17 Cockpit, Arena Events, Trade Stalls and much much more.
See you there!

A Bit of a Dash!

Well one way and another I've had a bit of a busy day dashing here there and everywhere but this morning I was able to down load a few photos from Bee Jackson and Saturday's photo shoot onto my facebook page before dashing to the gym. For those of you who keep up with my news by reading my Blog on my web-site and don't go onto Facebook here is one of the photos of me looking all Edwardian. I can't wait to see the others when they come through!
This afternoon I was in Edgeware as I had a dentists apointment and I'm now back at my desk catching up on paper work before the 1940s season starts for me this May. My first public event begins on the 12th and 13th May at the Tower Museum at Bassingbourn and when I get the jpeg through I will put the poster up so you can see all the details and hopefuly come along. It's the first time they have done an event like this at Bassingbourn so I'm looking forward very much to performing for them. Do come along and surport us.There are so many 1940s events now but in many ways I like the smaller events as they are much more friendly and are so much more aprechative of your surport.
Thats about all my news for today as I now need to crack on as I've been asked to write a small peice for the Dear John coloume for The Stage Newspaper. Toodle Pip for Now and do Keep Watching!

Back in the Gym!

Today I was back in the gym after a 2 week absance. For those of you who have been following my news you know I have been very busy with shows and although I haven't been down the gym I have been out jogging so it's not like I haven't been working out. However it did feel good to put my body through it's paces today and feel my musles working particuly my tummy and butocks and the best bit - I haven't put on any weight - if anything I have lost some so whipee!
Today I have been working on my Twitter design and it may be me but I think twitter is really badly designed - so it doesn't give alot of scope to be creative. But then again I only have a 17 inc screen and as Rachel was telling me most people have bigger computer screens now. I'm not one of them and as most of my demagraphic are over 55 I try and take everything into consideration when designing. This evening I have been playing around with cut outs and words and I have decided to use me as Prudie Jones for the side space! Don't worry all will be made clear when Rachel puts my design into the vertual reality world which is my web-site and I hope it wont be long now before we get my Twitter button up on my web-site too so you can just click in and on.
Some other good news I recived my arrangement through today of "The Lady is a Tramp" from Richard. The arrangement is sounding great and has the strings in it which I wanted so it will balance with a soprano voice. I'm looking forward to being down in the studio again and picking up the other songs for the Evette show so lots happening! - Toodle Pip for now and do keep Watching!

Busy Weekend!

Hello one and all I'm sorry it's been a few days since I last blogged but I've had a very busy weekend. As you know I was doing an Edwardian photo shoot at Sywell Aerodrome on Saturday which went really well. We also did some 1920s shots too and I can't wait to see the photos although I've got to be pacent and wait 10 to 14 days. I was working with 2 very talented photographers Dave and Barbara Jackson and to have the oppertunity to be photographed with a plane so early in date was a once in a life time chance. For those of you who have been reading my blogs you will know I had a new costume 1912-14 in date so I'm looking forward to sharing the photos with you when they come through!
Today I had another mini photo shoot this morning with spring flowers all very 1940s glamour before heading off to Bushey and The Forties Family Experience Weekend. This was my last chance to visit an event before I start my season. Sometimes it's nice to be a visitor and do all the things I never get the chance to do when I'm working. I particuly enjoyed the ARP gentleman who did the talk on bombs and air raids. Very interesting and I also got the chance to look at the 1940s house which for some reason I had always missed before. It was great to meet up and have a chat with all the stall holders and catch up with all you re-anacters and the news from the 40s sceen and your veiws on past events!
The rain held off which was good although a little cold which is why I think it is so important to have somewhere where people can come inside and watch entertainment rather than having it all out-side and only Lindy-Hop. Sadly not everyone can take part and if it's cold you often find people drift away in favour of a sit down and a warming cup of tea! I have to say I really enjoyed my cup of tea and off ration home made cake - Yummy!

Going Edwardian!

Today was the last of my Easter Bonnet shows and I have to say I have really enjoyed this run. Other than Christmas it's quite unusaly for me to be doing a run of the same shows. Next week I have 20s and 30s, Sing-along and Pearly Queen with the run up to St Georges Day so busy busy.
This evening I had another dress fitting for my Edwardian costume and I'm really pleased with how it's looking. My hat has come out well too so I'm looking forward to Saturday's Edwardian photo shoot. We will be shooting at an Aerodrome which I think will make for some great shots. I may well take along this costume too which always photographs well along with my green. All we need to pray for now is goog weather!

The Stately Homes of England!

Today has been another busy day with an Easter Bonnet show this morning, back in the office early after-noon catching up on phone calls and e-mails and then Ascott House later this after-noon.  I wanted some time out to learn some new songs as I was hoping to go last Sunday. The Sun came out and it was wonderful to be walking around the grounds again. My mother always use to take my brother and I every Easter when we were children and today brought back lots of happy memories. The Spring flowers are so beautiful there and there were times when I could just look across and enjoy the whole of Buckinghamshire's country side and not hear a pin drop apart from the birds. Wonderful! Ofcourse Ascott House helped me to focus today and learn one of my songs for my Evette Show. Nole Coward's "The Stately Homes of England". As everyone headed home I had the Lily pond to myself. I think I walked around it at least 8 times singing away to myself, learning words. This sort of behaver is quite normal for me and infact today I've sung my way around the Magnolia Dell, Dutch Garden, Coronation Grove, Gun Alley and ofcourse the Venus Fountaine. If you want to learn a wordy song like The Stately Homes of England where better to go than to a Stately home. I think Earl Spencer would have been proud of me even if I wasn't at his home - oh well maybe next time!

Dolce and Gabbana

Did anyone see the peice on Dolce and Gabbana's latist catwalk show in the Telegraph magagazine at the weekend? Their collection was inpired by Sicilian Baroque and 17th century Sicilian architecture. Now you might be wondering what this might have to do with 40s fashion? For those of you who read my peice on 40s fashion in The Best of British magazine you will know I've been talking about the use of flowers for this season - and sure enough flowers are everywhere. Dolce and Gabbana have also mixed flowers with black lace and I have to say I feel rather inspired so maybe it's time to get out my black corset again and have a bit of a play around. I haven't warn it in ages but that's what I love about fashion it's such fun and with a few tweeks you can make something look fresh and new again. I also noticed a real victorian vibe going on too so I shall start wearing my lace up and button boots this autumn winter for every day.
When it comes to being true to the 40s ladies don't forget to wear your corsages and flowers in your hair this season and genltelman don't forget your button holes. With my run of Easter Bonnet shows I have been working with yellow roses and when the weather gets warmer I shall be wearing my Austrian Durndle which is red white and blue - covered with embrodered flowers and although not Sicilian it ticks all the right boxes for now and the 40s. Keep Watching and have fun!

I Love my Job!

Here we are Easter Monday and back from doing a show in St Albans. Today I was working in a Nursing home and just before I started one old lady told me to "Bugger Off" even before I sang a note. "Bad Luck" I said "I can't aford to Bugger Off not before I've sung and been paid".Needless to say it wasn't long before I had her up singing and dancing along with the rest of the room. I love my job - I think I surpised the cares too but then that's what I'm paid to do. I may not be able to spell or add up but I know how to entertain and it's moments like these that make it all worth while! People don't always understand it's not always about money.
I know I'm not every-ones cup of tea but it makes me happy to please others through my talent. Tonight I shall be working alittle more on my Evette show. Lots of words to learn and I'm having fun playing around with words and patter.
Dress fitting tonight for the Edwardian shoot and I shall be trying my dress on with my dyed shoes. Sadly they have gone a little streeky so a little on the shaby chic side. Nobodies perfect I might need to decorate! Easter Bonnet shows continue next week Do Keep Watching!

I've Done it at Last!

It's been one of thoses days today where I've been able to sort out my Net Book - Harar! and yes I did it all on my own so I feel ever-so empowed and all powerful. The machines aren't taking me over ofter all at last I've won a battle or be it a very little one!
I've also dye a pair of silk shoes today. It's been ages since I last dyed a pair of shoes infact it was this pair pictured which went with my 60s dress. These ones are to go with my new Edwardian costume and at one point it was a bit touch and go navy almost went purple but we got there in the end. I hate to admit it but I don't know as much as I would like about the break down of colour. Perhaps if I had studied fine art I would understand more. I come from a design background and for quickness I would use felt tips and coloured pencils - never really did much paint mixing. My lack of knolage caught up with me today!
Sadly I never got to go out for my pick nick as hoped but I did enjoy my run this morning and the light rain on my face. Tonight I shall be playing around with some script idears for Evette in the middle of songs. I know it sound crazy but all will come right. Like all artists I have my vision and I know what to do to make the show work. Do keep watching and toodle pip for now!

Net Book Crash!

Not that I ever have - but now might just be the time to start smoking! Can you belive it another net book crash. Ever since I have tried to go over to this sytem it has been one problem after another. Same old re- ocurring problem the arrow keys stop working and shuffle about.
I've spent a futune on trying to fix this problem and no sooner the problem is fix it re-ocures with-out warning just when you are about to start singing. I've had enough and I've decided to ditch the whole sytem along with I Pad 2 - what a waist of time and money the pair have been. Both are unrelable and unusable for a professional singer. I'm going back onto mini disk I just can't keep taking the risk in performance and no way will I be taking either out to France with me. Lucky I always carry back-up. I fear this is an oman I'm very superstishous and both of these systems have brought me bad luck. They were set up by my ex-boy friend and I feel fate is telling me to get rid of every-thing to do with him. I'm looking forward to meeting up with my new sound engineer this Friday. One thing I've learn't - if you want a job doing always go to a professional!

Friday 6 April 2012

Happy Easter!

Just a quick note to wish you all a very Happy Easter. I'm just finnishing off some last minute paper work before my show this afternoon and once again I have shows all weekend. However I do have Easter Sunday off which is a treat so I might take myself out on a pick nick if the weather holds. I quite fancy sitting quietly in the sunshine leaning my songs and playing around with script idears for Evette the Spivette.
I also need to dye a pair of shoes to go with my new Edwardian costume. I haven't dyed shoes in a long time so I'm wondering if I can remember how to do it but the most important thing is I have the dying swatch - so something to play with first.
Have a lovely Easter one and all - Oh and before I forget next week we will be branding my Twitter pages. I'm still not really sure what I'm doing with Twitter yet but if you want to follow me there please do.
Thank-you to Rachel and every one at Big Gun Digital who have helped me with this blog and all things web-site and internety. It always pays to go to professionals.Happy Easter Every-one and do keep watching as I have lots of plans for the future! ;->

Eureka!

I'm back blogging at last I'm such a dolly all these different pass words and I forget which is which. For those of you who have been following me on facebook you know I have been busy with Easter Bonnet Shows all week. I also feel really excited and positive about the future as I have been able to put a few ghosts to rest and I can now stride out and give my full attention to the jobs in hand. I booked the ferry tickets and accomadation for France a few days ago and it wont be long now before I'm back out there again singing for D-Day. I'm a bit like a cat on a hot tin roof all jumpy but in a good way. So much work to do with now over 212 shows sold for this year and I'm stealing as much time as I can to get Evette the Spivette up and running for the the 19th 20th May.
I've also been hat making this week too. I have an Edwardian photo shoot planned for the 14th April so I've been working on a new costume around 1912-14 in date. I've been using silk which is one of my favourite fabrics to work with and my dress is very Downton Abbey in style. Another one of my designs just like the costume pictured only this costume is navy and turqurise velvet and silk. I have also used lots of buttons in the design and as soon as I get the photos through I shall post. In the mean time I'm just nipping out to go jogging this morning before getting ready for another Easter Bonnet show this afternoon. Keep Watching!

Easter Here we Come!

In My Easter Bonnet!
Well today I was performing in Aylesbury and was the first of my Easter Bonnet shows - only can you belive it! Just as I was getting ready one of the button bits fell off my suspender belt - Oh bother! Lucky I had another belt. I remember hearing somewhere woman would use a sixpence in days gone bye - Mine will be be heading for the bin!
It was lovely to wear my blue Ginham dress again it's one of my designs and I took my insperation from the Wizard of Oz. I made the hat myself only I can't quite make up my mine if the hat is on the right side of naff. When I walk it has the habbit of flapping up and down a bit - still the old ladies like it and these are Easter Bonnet shows! Mind you I did stop traffic when I nipped to the bank afterwards.
My show went really well - there is some great music in this show and needless to say I did my Judy Garland Medley. My poor old speaker boxes are on their last legs so we will have to get out the gaffer type and do a quick repair job. My mike stand is looking a bit worst for wear too. One of it's knobs fell off and it leans stightly to the right. I bought a new one but somehow I hate to get rid of it as we have been through a lot together. I bought it in Moffat while I was on a Scotish Theatre tour back in the early naughties. Sadly nothing lasts forever do Keep Watching!
